Our Story
What is Sophia?
Sophia is a seasonal Mediterranean-inspired food cart stationed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Everything we do is with intention: from sourcing produce at local farmer’s markets each week to selecting our partners, to the way we greet you when you first approach us at Bushwick Inlet Park.
Our menu is built around a few things done really well: a coffee program and build-your-own breakfast sandwich in the morning, and at lunch, three signature sandwiches, skewers, soft serve, and a build-your-own option available as a sandwich, salad, or rice bowl.
We're not trying to be everything. We're trying to be the place you come back to all season.
Who's behind it?
Sophia is the first concept by Aristotle Zigouras, a Greek-American chef with a deep-rooted passion for food and hospitality. He trained in some of New York’s most acclaimed kitchens, including Per Se and One White Street, where he developed a disciplined, ingredient-driven approach. Sophia is an expression of his heritage and experience – bringing thoughtful, Mediterranean-inspired food into a more relaxed, everyday setting.
We're a small crew with high standards for everything that we do. We stay close to every aspect of our product and service, to deliver our guests a memorable experience.
Why a food cart?
Sophia was born where preparation met opportunity, fueled by a drive to build something from the ground up. At its core is a commitment to creating thoughtful, memorable experiences.
